Is the United Nations in vain?

Is the United Nations in vain?

The United Nations

was founded in 1929. The main purpose of which was to establish peace among the
nations of the world, It was formed out of such ambition.

Did It take any action during World War II ?

The United Nations failed miserably to establish peace during World War II. It was
re-established in 1945 when World War II ended in San Francisco, USA. India has
been a member of the United Nations ever since.

At that time, some new objectives were added to the United Nations, including the
prevention of war, human rights, and international health issues etc.

The shortcomings of the United Nations are as follows.

Use of nuclear weapons over Japan, One-sided attitude towards
environmental issues, The country where the corona virus first appeared
seems to lack action, The matter of terrorism, When it comes to attacks
on countries like Iran and Libya, The ongoing conflict between Russia and
Ukraine, 26/11 in India,ect.

India is a country at the time of the founding of the United Nations, as
well as the world's largest democracy and republic. While India has been
granted temporary membership in the UNSC meetings many times, the
question naturally arises as to why it has not been granted permanent
membership despite being the largest republic in the world.

Since the founding of the United Nations, only a handful of countries have
been granted permanent membership in the UNSC Council but given the
current situation, there is a need for improvement. India has often made
representations in various forums to reform the United Nations, While it is
still incomplete only because of the monopoly of some countries.

Some countries in the world have a very powerful weapon and they do not
have to ask anyone to increase it. While other countries of the world are
prevented from making weapons. They want to be constantly in power
and keep other countries under their control but that is not possible in this
21st century world.

The United Nation must act impartially, regardless of differences, so
that its message can be better communicated to the world. If no change is
made in the United Nations, then in the future it will only belong to a few
countries which makes no sense.

No countries in the world can become a great power in the 21st century,
the only great power is the union that works for peace, which the United
Nation can do.
